Laymans view..Comparing the architecture of the two mosque Al Nabawi and Al Haram in my mind the Al Nabawi wins hands down. In the AlNabawi the architecture is well blended in with great halls with post made of marble and granite. You can see thru the evolution and expansion of the mosque but preserving the architecture story. Everything from the great dataran to the integration into the original masjid rasul...however in Mekah..just like the city it self I think architecture wise the city fathers tried just too hard. Just like the city itself..architecture wise it is total chaos...especially the lower levels. There is no sense of space and flow in the mosque. It is very hard to get any sense of direction..obviously because the focal point is the Kaabah.
Having said that I am priveledged to be here..tetamu Allah still the same. Alhamdulillah.
